Welcome to the KILI 28/8 Project!

On the 28/08/07 a group of fun loving Rotarians and Friends climbed the breathtaking Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania in Africa. The climbers are still raising urgent monies to assist in the relief of some desperate situations there for orphans in Africa. We welcome any persons interested in supporting us by calling John Glassford (02) 6927 6027. The situation in Africa needs immediate help please.

Trivia Night Raises $1,045

Table D3 Trivia Night.

From Sharon Daishe:

Rural Lands Protection Board Manager Association Trivia Night raises $1,045

Each year I attend an annual conference of managers of Rural Lands Protection Boards. Conference usually has a fine session for a local charity. I wrote to the manager association to ask whether they would be willing to ask conference to donate the fines to Kili 28/8. Instead, the association decided to run a trivia night which was held on the first evening, Tuesday 22 May 2007.

Everyone entered into the spirit of the fundraising – points were auctioned and bought by losing tables (like mine….) and the winners donated their prizes back for auction. The auctioneer for the evening had a sore throat for the rest of the week from urging the bids higher and the wonderful result was $1,045 raised.

A big thank you to the manager association and my RLPB colleagues for a night of fun and generosity.

Well done Sharon.

It was a pleasure (and lots of fun) to be part of that night. It's a great way to raise money. Kathy Patten, Manager, Hume RLPB
