Welcome to the KILI 28/8 Project!

On the 28/08/07 a group of fun loving Rotarians and Friends climbed the breathtaking Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania in Africa. The climbers are still raising urgent monies to assist in the relief of some desperate situations there for orphans in Africa. We welcome any persons interested in supporting us by calling John Glassford (02) 6927 6027. The situation in Africa needs immediate help please.

Kilimanjaro's Glaciers Collapsing

The Furtwängler Glacier on Mount Kilimanjaro

Photos by Dr. Vincent Keipper who was in the right place at the right time to get this photo of the crumbling Furtwängler Glacier on Mt. Kilimanjaro. The photo is dramatic evidence of the glacier's recession. Room-size blocks of ice tumbled across the trail Keipper had hiked the
day before.

Crumbling Glacier on Kilimanjaro

One of the reasons we should all be concerened by global warming and I hope we will be able to see and may be to touch these amazing glaciers in August.
